BUMBLE’S MOST TALKED-ABOUT CAMPAIGN
Bold and undeniably successful.
This was Bumble’s bold relaunch for a new generation navigating modern love.
Role
Post-Production Lead
Client
Bumble Inc.
Brief
Develop campaign films to promote Bumble’s relaunched app and branding, with the central message of “We’ve changed, so you don’t have to”.
Approach
I worked within a small team to manage the post-production for the relaunch. I sat in on the grade, sound design, and edits alongside the VP of Creative to ensure the brand vision was met. I directed and created the motion graphics, set up the workflow for finishing and localisation, and managed the delivery across multiple formats. I also oversaw the cleanup and grade with Electric Theatre Collective and introduced a new compositing approach that added more depth to the design while allowing it to be rolled out easily across different markets.
I acted as the bridge between the technical, creative, and production teams. I kept track of the schedule, managed the budget, and made sure that feedback from the VP of Creative and CEO was implemented effectively.
Results
The campaign ran across cinema, TV, DOOH, digital, and social in 14 markets. We produced the entire campaign in-house, delivering over 400 assets. In just a few weeks, the business impact was significant:
Total revenue grew by 10.2%.
Bumble app revenue jumped by 11.1%.
Paying users rose by half a million, hitting 4 million worldwide.
Research showed the films were a major driver of sign-ups and app usage.
Evaluation
This was a demanding project that required balancing high-level creative feedback with a massive technical delivery. Although the campaign had a shorter run than planned, the films themselves performed well and met all the key business goals. It was a great experience in managing a large-scale global relaunch and ensuring creative consistency across a huge volume of assets.
