Go Beyond marked a new evolution for Pokémon GO, bringing Kalos region Pokémon into the game.

Brief
Announce the Gen 6 addition of Pokémon to Pokémon GO, and publicise a festive seasonal event.

Approach
I led post-production on two Pokémon GO Beyond films: a 3D animated global announcement made with Blue Zoo Studios, and a festive promo we pulled together quickly using stock video, VFX, 3D and 2D animation. I edited, directed the sound design, sourced footage, built pre-vis for the animators, and managed localisation into more than 20 languages.

It had a very fast turn around, especially for the festive project, but the end products were really rewarding.

Results
The Kalos announcement film hit over 1.2 million views, outperforming average channel content by more than 2400%. It drove 17k+ likes and nearly 1.7k comments, with fans flooding the comments to celebrate the arrival of Gen 6 Pokémon. Greninja became the standout moment, with viewers comparing the reveal to a Smash Bros trailer and calling it one of the most exciting Pokémon GO updates yet.

The Christmas campaign hit 360k+ views (620% above channel average), with 9k+ likes and 1k+ comments. Fans compared it to the classic Coca-Cola Christmas ads and called it “amazing.” This campaign won a Muse Creative award.
